Company overview
MDNX provides managed network services and cloud computing infrastructure. MDNX employs 180 people in the UK, of which 60% hold formal technical accreditations. MDNX runs some of the most technically challenging, rapidly changing and demanding end user networks and network partners in the UK and focuses on adding value to customers through its independence, operational transparency and Real Support Programme.

Brief
MDNX, formerly Solution1, acquired Ci-Net and VTL (UK) Ltd in October 2010. All three brands needed to be bought together under the company name ‘MDNX’ of which a logo had been created and a temporary website was in place.
The brief was open in terms of looking across the full brand image; logo, typography, colour palette and imagery. With initial deliverables to include; stationery, internal templates e.g. Word documents, PowerPoint slides and an email signature design, as well as a new corporate website.
Solution
Our journey began with investigating the MDNX logo and re designing/positioning the arrow used within the X of MDNX logo. We then tested the current MDNX strap line and positioned alternative solutions and the need to revise this element.

Along with this, Aurora presented typography, colour and imagery routes, which were then agreed during the initial stages of the project and delivered within a Brand Guideline document to be distributed internally.
Deliverables following the set up of the MDNX brand elements included the creation of stationery templates such as; business cards, letterhead and continuation sheets, compliment slips and envelopes. Internal templates included; Word documents, PowerPoint slides and an email signature design. An interim website was also launched in support of the new brand identity, whilst the full site is still underway – watch this space!
In addition to the design works, Aurora Design reviewed the MDNX value proposition and worked on the generation of core key brand messaging, as well as new strap line concepts.
Delivery date
This project commenced in November 2010 and Aurora Design continues to enjoy an on-going working relationship with MDNX.
